NEUMA QUARTET

has been gaining recognition on Polish and foreign music stages from the very first days of its existence. The quartet debuted at the concert opening the 21st Kiejstut Bacewicz International Chamber Music Competition, playing side by side with Leonora Armellini, a prizewinner of the 18th Chopin Piano Competition. This prestigious event came as an impulse to form an ensemble with a mission to present chamber music of the highest standard. In 2023, the quartet won the 3rd prize (and two special prizes) at the 2nd Karol Szymanowski International Music Competition. In the same year the artists were also semifinalists at the Carl Nielsen International Competition, and in 2022 they were awarded the Grand Prix at the Beethoven International Competition. The recognition earned by Neuma Quartet is reflected in invitations it receives to unique musical events, such as Musethica International, or Crans-Montana Classics in Switzerland, where the ensemble cooperated with Jerusalem Quartet. The quartet also gave performances at such events as the Beethovenfest Bonn (Germany), Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival (Germany), or Zeist Music Days Festival & Masterclass (the Netherlands). Performances of Neuma Quartet attract a broad range of recipients. The ensemble is deeply dedicated to reaching young audiences and enthusiastically engages in educational projects

PATRYK DOPKE

organist, church musician of the young generation. He graduated from the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk (specialty: Church Music), where he studied organ with Prof. Bogusław Grabowski (liturgical playing and improvisation) and Prof. Andrzej Szadejko (performance of organ literature). In addition, he participated in interpretation courses run by Lorenzo Ghielmi, Harald Vogel and Pamela Ruiter-Feenstra. He is also a classical philologist and theologian. He uses knowledge from these fields in his interest in Gregorian chant. He is also interested in its reception in the field of Latin tradition, as well as its new form transformed by the Reformation (Protestant chant), and its application in organ literature. Since 2016, Patryk Dopke has been the second organist of the Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Gdańsk. Among his most significant concerts are a recital at St. Mary’s Church in Lübeck and at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York.
