ZUZANNA BATOR
active concert organist and organiser of cultural life. She graduated from
the Secondary School of Music in Wrocław (organ class of Prof. Klemens Kamiński), the
Academy of Music in Katowice (organ class of Prof. Julian Gembalski), and Staatliche
Musikhochschule in Stuttgart (organ classes of Prof. Bernhard Haas, and Prof. Jon Laukvik).
She is an awardee of numerous prizes at Polish organ competitions. She appears in many
European countries as a soloist and in a duo with her husband Maciej, with whom she
performs their own transcriptions of organ and symphonic compositions to 4 hands and 4
feet. Since 2012 she has lived in Świdnica, where she and her husband run the Good Music Foundation. She is the artistic director of the Foundation and of such events as the Christian
Schlag International Organ Competition, the Świdnica Region Concerts, or the Schlag
Symphonic Organ cycle. Together with her husband she has recorded two organ music CDs
at the Church of Peace in Świdnica: ‘The Organ at Virgin Mary’s Basilica in Bardo’ and ‘The
Angels are Back in Play’. In 2019 she received funding under two artistic scholarships: the
Scholarship of the Minister of Culture awarded for the cycle of concerts entitled: ‘Organ
Transcriptions for Children at the Church of Peace in Świdnica’, and the scholarship of the
Mayor of Świdnica for a cycle of audio broadcasts and films entitled ‘Between the Organ’.
Her favourite concert repertoire is the 20th century music.
