KRZYSZTOF URBANIAK

studied in Warsaw and in Stuttgart by Józef Serafin, Ludger Lohmann, Leszek Kędracki and Jörg Halubek. 2012 he received his doctoral degree in Kraków. He won first prizes at the Arp Schnitger organ competition in Bremen (2010) and Willem Hermans organ competition in Pistoia (2009) as well as second prizes at the Franz Schmidt organ competition in Kitzbühel (2006) and Petr Eben organ competition in Opava (2004). He is professor for organ and Head of the Institute of Haprischord, Organ, Sacred Music and Early Instruments at the Music Academy in Łódź, he also teaches at the Music Academy in Kraków. He leeds organ master classes and is jury member of organ competitions (i.e. Schnitger competition in Alkmaar and Silbermann competition in Freiberg). He published several CD recordings in recent years. Since 2017 he is curator of both organs of the Artur Rubinstein Philharmonic Hall in Łódź. 2013-2016 he was also organ expert of the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The same position he holds since 2021 in the Polish Ministry of Culture, National Heritage and Sport. He is artistic director of festivals around the Hildebrandt organ from 1719 in Pasłęk and around the Hummel/Nitrowski organ from 1611-1633 in Olkusz.
